“Lord, make my way prosperous not that I achieve high station, but that my life be an exhibit to the value of knowing God.”

The Story.
It would be natural to start with the story of me, my life and who I am and what I'm all about, but that would be picking up in the recent history of the story.
It all started an eternity ago. In the beginning there was... God. He created a world where there had been no world. A universe out of nothing. Stars and planets, animals, fish, birds, light and darkness, and humans. People. Man in His own Image. Man was put in a beautiful garden and given a job to do, then a woman to love. And God saw that it was good. It glorified Him.
But then...
Man sinned. Man rebelled and turned his back on God. The beautiful was blurred. The view of glory faded. Man walked in blackness and did what was right in his own eyes.
Romans says,"All Have Sinned..." and, "The payment for sin is death."
The payment for sin was death. Man would have to die.But God...
"But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)
But God sent His son Jesus Christ to die in man's place. He took the penalty for sin, and came back to life. He won the battle over death. Now He sits at the right hand of God.
In Christ I am a new creation. Old things have past away. All things have become new.
That's the very shortened story.
That to say...

I Have a Reason to Sing!
I came into the world in 1979. I was born a sinner. At the age of 12 I gave my life to Christ. The joy of knowing Him has since inspired me to sing and play and write many songs. For years I have been encouraged to "get them songs published or something". I have spent countless hours learning what that would look like and working toward that goal. But have never gone very far in the actual process of doing that. I have had many reasons (excuses), most of which revolved around me and wanting to get money and recognition.
Summer of 2013, my wife and I joined a book study through the church we are attending. The study talks a lot about obedience to God and recognizing that everything we have is Gods. I was kind of ho-humming along doing the, "I know all of this. Been there taught on that." When the large piece of lumber hit me in the forehead. Figuratively speaking, OK.
The lesson for the week was talking about obeying Gods call. The question was "what has God told you to do that you have not obeyed him in?"
I thought, "Well, I guess getting the songs I've written out there so God can use them."
The next question was, "Why have you not obeyed?"
My answer, "Because I want to make sure I have things in place so I don't miss out on the money."
The very next thing my eyes fell on on that page was a quote...
“He is no fool who gives up what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose.”
― Jim Elliot
I didn't finish reading my lesson for that day. I spend the rest of my time talking with God. That day was the birth of this site in my mind, though I'm pretty sure God had that idea before I did too.

The Goal
My hope and prayer is that God would bless you through the songs here. They are here for download and for use by anyone who wants to sing them for the Lord. If you will be recording them please contact me. I will send official permission to use them. I also want to know so I can pray for your ministry. Please recognize my name as the writer so they can point to me, so I can point to Christ.
I will let God bless and work as He chooses.
To God be the glory.
